When we first met holis market, their digital story wasn't holistic. But there was something much more important, a team that believed in an idea and wanted to share it with the world. This is the story of a great idea that Boom Creative Lab helped bring to life.
The biggest challenge was establishing a great brand relationship before the supermarket actually opened. We had to answer the question: how do we connect and establish trust with customers without an existing product or service? We decided to build trust online first.
First, we focused on creating a community of believers that were ready to change their food shopping habits for a better future. In order to be able to connect with users on that level, holis had to become the most transparent and human supermarket in Austria.
A rich cross-channel social media strategy comprising of brand awareness, advertising campaigns, influencer outreach as well as offline activations was the foundation for the first six months until the shop opened.
The goal was for this strategy to be the backbone for all future activities and the crowdfunding campaign on Wemakeit. With great input from everyone, we developed social media brand guidelines for holis market that included:
A content strategy to provide value and build trust
Visual cross-channel guidelines to establish brand awareness and recognition
Once we had a community, the second step was to get them engaged and excited. One month before the big opening we launched a Facebook campaign to get the local crowd excited about the new shop opening. We invited Facebook fans to become VIP shoppers two weeks before the big opening and started a countdown on Instagram.

By running a highly targeted Facebook Advertising campaign, we were able to reach 45,000 users within a timeframe of 30 days on a small budget.
