The value of Facebook video

According to AdAge, people are sharing 75% more videos to Facebook than they did a year ago. In the U.S. alone, people shared 94% more. With mobile applications like Beme and live streaming services like Periscope and Facebook Live, we will see this number continue to rise in 2015.

A couple of months ago, Facebook hired Nielsen, a global consumer research company to find out the real value of social video ads for brands. According to their findings, from the moment a video ad was viewed (even before one second was reached), there were noticeable increases in ad recall, brand awareness, and purchase consideration

Facebook Video Metrics

The video metrics in Page Insights and Ads Reporting will help you understand your audience's engagement with video content. Some of the metrics Facebook included are video views, unique video views, the average duration of the video view and audience retention. Video metrics are available for all paid and organic videos uploaded directly to the Facebook Page.
